Being away from Oliver was difficult; at some point, maybe, a 24, 36 hour separation wouldn't ache. But right now, it did, and maybe that was because it was new love, or co-dependency, or any number of reasons, but it was one thing Sam didn't really wish to rationalize. Sam (and Scott, especially Scott) were prone to rationalization above all us.

With Oliver, he tried just to feel.

Sure, they had already seen each other again after Sam's overnight -- Sam had stopped by Oliver's studio as promised, for a quick hello and a kiss and a cup of coffee -- but a quick, public moment like that couldn't replace the moment they were both at home together, alone, with nothing to do but be with each other. It was the only company Sam wanted.

Somewhere, in the back of his mind, was a pang of guilt for not devoting his spare time to solving their 'situation' -- but they really didn't appear to be in danger, and the situation could wait.

Right now, Sam was coming home to the man he loved, who promised to wait by the door for him. To test that theory, he knocked on the door rather than opening it himself.

“It does,” Sam agreed, because he could hardly deny it. And while he was at it, he folded Oliver’s shirt as well. “I don’t know why. You look incredible.”

"You do know why, liar." Oliver grinned up at him before leaning in to mouth at the bulge in Sam's pants.

Sam laughed, even if the laugh ended a quiet gasp. “Did you just call me a liar?”

"Yep." Oliver drew back to knead at him through the fabric of his pants. "You really can't think of any reasons why it'd be exciting for you to tell someone what to do and have them do it?"

Sam could think of several, inasmuch as he could think at all in this moment. “No, not a single one.”

"Should I reward these lies?" Oliver mused, lessening the pressure.

“You certainly shouldn’t stop,” Sam said quickly, which really ruined his cool teasing demeanour.

Oliver huffed a laugh but got to work on unbuttoning Sam's fly. "Lift," he instructed when it was time to push down his pants.

“Much better.” Sam lifted obligingly, looking down at Oliver. He responded so well.

Parts of Sam were responding well too. Oliver took him in hand and stroked slowly. "You want me, Sam?"

“Very much.” There was no lie in that response; it was honest, immediate. Sam sank a hand into Oliver’s hair.

"What about Scott? Does he want me?" He was watching Sam carefully, the corner of his mouth quirked up.

Sam tightened his fingers in Oliver’s hair. “Scott wants you so much it hurts.”

Oliver closed his eyes, savoring how that felt. "And Cyclops?" Okay, now he was just being an asshole.

In answer, Sam pulled Oliver up — that hand still in his hair, the other on his arm — and kissed him hotly.

Oliver kissed back hungrily and pressed tight against Sam, still on the floor between his legs. It was hard to pull back, but he forced himself to do with a parting peck. But he only went as far as the side table, where he'd stashed condoms and a bottle of lube in the drawer. He should probably remember to clear out all his sex supply hiding spots before one of their moms came to visit.

He set the bottle next to Sam's leg before opening the condom and sliding it on him. Then he crawled back up on the couch, straddling Sam's lap again, just like how they'd started this. "Hey, handsome," he murmured when they were face to face again. "Should we make it stop hurting?"

Wait, Oliver hid sex supplies in the side table? What else was hidden in this apartment! Sam had to laugh a little in surprise, but he wasn’t laughing when Oliver returned. His efficiency was, yes, so hot. “God, I love you,” was his response, and his agreement.

Well, comments like that deserved at least a quick kiss, which Oliver gave him as he reached for the bottle. He popped the cap, then took Sam by the hand, drizzling some over his fingers with a raised eyebrow and a smile.

Sam had to smile. “Thanks for the assist, Quicksilver.” He rubbed his fingers together to better distribute the lube, looking right at Oliver as he pressed one of those fingers against him.

"Don't you X-Men always need it?" His breathing had quickened in anticipation, though, belying any teasing. He braced his hands on Sam's broad shoulders and sank back against his hand.

For that, Sam bit at Oliver’s lower lip right about the time his finger curled inside him, firm and deliberate. “We’re all stronger and better together,” Sam replied, preferring to twist his finger rather than take the bait. “After all, imagine doing this alone.”

Oliver laughed breathlessly, his eyelashes fluttering whenever Sam hit a particularly sensitive spot. "You think I haven't done this alone?" But all the same, he licked at his bottom lip, already chasing the ghost of that bite.

“And was it as good as it is now?” Sam slipped in a second finger to prove his point.

Oliver's breath hitched. "Nothing's as good without you."

[nola_cyclops]

That was much better. Sam kissed Oliver deeply, steadily working his fingers, but waiting was getting to be harder and harder.
