The best thing about coffee shop social media, if you were Nate Harris, was that you could use it to get laid. It was even making hookups with old hookup friends, like Elspeth, more efficient! Thank you, Phoenix Effect!

Tonight, though, wasn't about Elspeth. It was about cute, awkward Will. When Nate got an invitation, he took it seriously, after some address-themed DMs, Nate was on his way to Will's place. He knocked when he reached the door, stood back with his hands in his pockets, and whistled pleasantly, nonchalantly, as he waited. Tonight was a great night to be Nate.

Will wasn't being entirely facetious when he said Nate alarmed him. There was something about Nate that felt weird, a little off. Not even in a bad way, necessarily, but in a way that kept Will on his toes, or on edge, or very aware of something he couldn't pinpoint, however one wanted to put it.

But he still liked Nate. Nate was cute, and they had had fun that one time they hooked up, and Nate always made heart eyes at Will over the bar when he was working and Will and Lib were there drinking, and those were all good things in Will's mind. So yeah, he invited Nate over, and he tried not to get too antsy while he waited for the knock.

When it came, it thankfully wasn't followed by any Kool Aid Man antics that would lose Will his security deposit, which Will didn't take for granted. "Hey," he greeted Nate with his usual slightly-sheepish smile. "Thanks for not busting down my door SWAT style."

Nate was scattered and sometimes aggressive but he was also a romantic. He fell in love with dozens of people, quite sincerely, even if it only lasted for a few minutes or hours. But when he had met Will, he had been charmed by his awkward, funny vibe, and his lovely face and the earnest way he had touched Nate.

So of course he made heart eyes and flirted and sent ‘u up’ texts that never seemed to end in, well, what they were supposed to end in, but here he was, with an invitation! What a lovely turn of events. He gave Will a big, flirty grin, but he was genuinely happy.

“I thought I’d play it more subtle. You look cute!”

"I didn't think you did subtle," he replied, stepping aside to let Nate in. It was teasing, yes, but he also really liked that about Nate. Nate might confuse the hell out of Will, but it wasn't because Nate was trying to hide anything, that was for sure. "Thanks. Libby says I was born cute, but I'm gonna take credit for it anyway."

“I dabble in subtle,” Nate amended, still smiling. “I admire and fear Libby.” He didn’t fear Will, but he did appreciate him, and he trailed a hand down the side of Will's face.

"That is the exact right reaction to her," Will noted approvingly, letting his eyes drift mostly closed at the touch. He wasn't actually touch-starved, not by a long shot, but he still reacted with the focus and appreciation of someone who was.

That was one of the things Nate liked so much about Will: he acted like every touch mattered. It made Nate feel tender towards him; it made Nate enjoy touching him all the more. He moved closer and, instead of answering, kissed Will fairly sweetly, making it count.

Will melted almost immediately in the face of that tenderness. He kissed back like he wanted nothing more in that moment than to be doing just that, hand curling slowly in the front of Nate's shirt just to have something to hold onto.

“Good boy,” Nate murmured approvingly against Will’s mouth. He didn’t actually want to stop the kissing, not yet, not when it had started on such a good note.

It was a little annoying how pleased he was by that, how much he definitely didn't want to stop kissing Nate.

“You should take your shirt off,” Nate suggested in between kisses. “I want to touch you. Or I could just get on my knees.” Options!

Will made an eager sound against Nate's mouth, kissing him again until he could finally formulate the word, "Yes." He shucked his t-shirt immediately, hoping it was clear that his answer was both, all of it, yes, now please.

Oh, the answer was clear. Will’s answers in this domain were always clear; it was something Nate liked about him. He grinned and kissed down Will’s neck, drifting onto his shoulder and chest, teeth grazing over one of his nipples. That done, he obligingly fell to his knees. “You need to take these off, too,” he pointed out, tugging playfully at Will’s pants.

"God, just making me do everything," he faux complained, just to have something to say as he tugged open his jeans and pushed them off. It was easier to ignore the hot flush in his cheeks when he was joking, to not feel so self-conscious about what just seeing Nate grinning up at him was doing.

“But it’s cute when your face turns red,” Nate innocently replied, mouthing over Will’s hips and belly, drawing down Will’s underwear himself, thanks, since apparently Will was doing too much here.

Which, of course, only made it redder, but Will couldn't bring himself to mind. "Guess it's a good thing you're good at making me blush, then." Good at making Will press towards those kisses, too.
