Katie - at Scottie's soccer game

Scottie was over with her teammates, talking and laughing before the game while their coach counted out who was there. Caleb was on the sidelines standing by the two camp chairs he'd brought; this field happened to have a set of wooden bleachers on one side, but not all of them did, and the chairs were more comfortable anyway. Normally he would have settled into one of them already as he drank from his thermos of coffee, but he wanted to make it easier for Katie to spot him.
Kind of amusing, thinking about Jean Grey having to look for someone with something other than her mind.
He was nervous, to be sure. Not because of Katie--she seemed great, and he knew from their conversation on the journals that he didn't have to worry about it going anything like it had with Sam. But having Alex in his head was still a new thing, and he wasn't exactly practiced at spending time with people who were really two people in one, and with Scottie there he felt additional pressure to handle it and not let anything show that might distress his daughter. Still, it would be good to see Jean.
