Being away from Oliver was difficult; at some point, maybe, a 24, 36 hour separation wouldn't ache. But right now, it did, and maybe that was because it was new love, or co-dependency, or any number of reasons, but it was one thing Sam didn't really wish to rationalize. Sam (and Scott, especially Scott) were prone to rationalization above all us.

With Oliver, he tried just to feel.

Sure, they had already seen each other again after Sam's overnight -- Sam had stopped by Oliver's studio as promised, for a quick hello and a kiss and a cup of coffee -- but a quick, public moment like that couldn't replace the moment they were both at home together, alone, with nothing to do but be with each other. It was the only company Sam wanted.

Somewhere, in the back of his mind, was a pang of guilt for not devoting his spare time to solving their 'situation' -- but they really didn't appear to be in danger, and the situation could wait.

Right now, Sam was coming home to the man he loved, who promised to wait by the door for him. To test that theory, he knocked on the door rather than opening it himself.

Oliver kissed back hungrily and pressed tight against Sam, still on the floor between his legs. It was hard to pull back, but he forced himself to do with a parting peck. But he only went as far as the side table, where he'd stashed condoms and a bottle of lube in the drawer. He should probably remember to clear out all his sex supply hiding spots before one of their moms came to visit.

He set the bottle next to Sam's leg before opening the condom and sliding it on him. Then he crawled back up on the couch, straddling Sam's lap again, just like how they'd started this. "Hey, handsome," he murmured when they were face to face again. "Should we make it stop hurting?"

Wait, Oliver hid sex supplies in the side table? What else was hidden in this apartment! Sam had to laugh a little in surprise, but he wasn’t laughing when Oliver returned. His efficiency was, yes, so hot. “God, I love you,” was his response, and his agreement.

Well, comments like that deserved at least a quick kiss, which Oliver gave him as he reached for the bottle. He popped the cap, then took Sam by the hand, drizzling some over his fingers with a raised eyebrow and a smile.

Sam had to smile. “Thanks for the assist, Quicksilver.” He rubbed his fingers together to better distribute the lube, looking right at Oliver as he pressed one of those fingers against him.

"Don't you X-Men always need it?" His breathing had quickened in anticipation, though, belying any teasing. He braced his hands on Sam's broad shoulders and sank back against his hand.

For that, Sam bit at Oliver’s lower lip right about the time his finger curled inside him, firm and deliberate. “We’re all stronger and better together,” Sam replied, preferring to twist his finger rather than take the bait. “After all, imagine doing this alone.”

Oliver laughed breathlessly, his eyelashes fluttering whenever Sam hit a particularly sensitive spot. "You think I haven't done this alone?" But all the same, he licked at his bottom lip, already chasing the ghost of that bite.

“And was it as good as it is now?” Sam slipped in a second finger to prove his point.

Oliver's breath hitched. "Nothing's as good without you."

That was much better. Sam kissed Oliver deeply, steadily working his fingers, but waiting was getting to be harder and harder.

Harder for Oliver too. Eventually he broke the kiss to groan and say, "I'm ready, let's do this." There might be a little extra ache, but it wasn't an issue. He sort of liked being slightly sore the next day, the reminder of what he'd been up to.

“You’re perfect,” Sam told him, kissing him again as he applied more lube, as he guided Oliver by his hips into a better position, as he held him there and pushed inside him, letting out a sigh, a groan, of relief and pleasure.

Oliver sighed too, hands tightening on Sam's shoulders. "I love feeling you inside me." He rocked up and down, testing a rhythm.

“God, me too.” Sam always wanted this. He let out an approving groan when Oliver started to move, keeping firm hold of him. “You’re incredible."

"You inspire it," Oliver told him with a grin, and started to pick up speed. He didn't think he was going to come, not so soon after the last time, but God, it felt good. And making Sam groan and look at him like this felt even better.

Sam laughed a little, but mostly he was lost in feeling; his head dropped back, his breathing was ragged, and he moved in response to Oliver’s rhythm, meeting him in it. “God—“ was about as much as he could manage to say.

Oliver was riding him harder, faster, his hips rolling with each cycle of push and pull. His muscles twinged and protested—mutant powers would really come in handy in times like these—but the stretch was part of what made it so good, the reminder of being alive. He leaned in to kiss Sam's neck, working his way up to his jaw, his cheek, and finally his mouth.

How could Sam ever have a life that didn’t have this in it? He felt, god, everything like this, was overwhelmed like this, and right around the moment Oliver found his mouth Sam came with a muffled cry, an eruption inside their kiss.

Oliver slowed but didn't stop, easing him through it. His kiss gentled too, and his hands framed Sam's face as it finally became a soft nuzzle to let them both breathe.

Breathing, Sam remembered what that was, right? Maybe. His breath was heavy, his eyes dark, his mind scrambled. Oliver’s hands on his face, his gentler touches, it was all so appreciative. Sam pressed a kiss to the side of Oliver’s mouth, grateful.

Aw, it was so cute when Sam's brain broke after sex. Did he get like this as Scott too, all helpless and wonderstruck with pleasure? He hated to break the moment, so he lingered a little longer where he was, kissing and petting and murmuring to him softly with loving praise.

“You’re so sweet,” Sam finally mumbled, the world piecing itself back together around him. “Hi.”

"Hello." Oliver kissed him again, his heart so full. He loved this man, he loved this man, he loved this man. "Coming back to me, sugar?"

“Always,” Sam promised, and it was an easy promise to make. “I’ll always come back to you.” He kissed Oliver gently, lovingly.

Believing him was effortless right now, and so was kissing him. Physically separating from him, not so much—Oliver winced a little as he pulled off and settled gingerly on his hip. "I'll be limping tomorrow," he said with relish, definitely overplaying the situation. He wouldn't even be limping tonight.
