Seth might spend too much time at Phoenix Effect looking at men. But if you looked at it another way, he was an excellent patron of local business. He was stopping by the coffee shop every day now, in late afternoons and early evenings, sipping smoothies and looking at the other customers.
On this particular afternoon, he was awarded by a very particular gift. When the man turned to face Seth’s vague direction, he raised his drink in a wave and a salute, giving him a smile. It was the kind of flirting someone could ignore if they were straight or married or busy, but it was clear enough, he figured, to capture any interested parties.

Caleb really should be more careful. "I was overdue for a break. I knew that, but I don't think I knew it until I got one, so thank you." He leaned in and stole another kiss, unable to help himself.

Seth smiled, grabbed Caleb’s arm to hold him there, so he could prolong that stolen kiss into something meaningful and well deserved.

It was all too easy to let himself get drawn into it, to prolong it himself when it seemed like it might end, but Caleb was pulled abruptly out of the moment when his phone started chiming from his pants pocket, discarded on the floor. "One sec."
But, of course, looking at his phone screen confirmed his suspicions--he'd lost track of time. He'd set an alarm so he'd be sure to pick up Scottie on time, and it was a good thing he'd left a little wiggle room, because now he needed to walk back to the coffee shop and get his car. "Shit, I need to go." He, very unfortunately, started putting on his clothes.

Well, that was abrupt. Seth frowned a little, but sure, this man had a life and commitments. He shook it off quickly, and nodded, even retrieving Caleb’s shirt and offering it up to him. “Reality beckons?"
no subject
"Yeah." Caleb took his shirt with a grateful smile and slipped it on before hastily retying his shoes. He did stop long enough to pull Seth in with a hand on his hip for one last kiss.

Okay, he was forgiven. Seth smiled, kissing him back. “Go on, handsome. Get out of here. Your public awaits."

Caleb laughed, making sure he had his phone and his keys before heading to the door. "Bye, Seth."

Seth leaned against the wall to watch Caleb leave. The view was more than pleasant.
